Immigration and visa solicitors in West Hampstead, London
UK visa applications, citizenship, and sponsor licence compliance.
Overview
We advise on the full range of UK visa and citizenship matters — from visa applications and indefinite leave to remain, to sponsor licence compliance and appeals. Our team has over 25 years' combined experience in this area.
Visa, settlement and citizenship applications are made to the Home Office, and for most of them the outcome depends on meeting the relevant requirements and providing the right evidence. We check those requirements against the current Immigration Rules and Home Office guidance before an application is made, prepare the application with you, and explain the decision and any next steps when it arrives.
If you are already in the UK and want to extend your stay or settle, our page on leave to remain applications explains how those applications usually run.

Matters we handle
Points-based system visas
Applications under the UK's points-based immigration system. For sponsored work routes the requirements usually include a job offer at the required skill level from a licensed sponsor, a minimum salary and, depending on the route, English language. We check them against your circumstances before an application is made.
Indefinite leave to remain
Applications for settlement: permission to stay in the UK without a time limit, usually available once you meet the requirements of your route, including its qualifying period. Our page on leave to remain applications sets out what is usually assessed.
British citizenship
Applications for naturalisation as a British citizen. The requirements usually include a period of residence, holding indefinite leave to remain or settled status, good character, and knowledge of English and of life in the UK.
Sponsor licence applications and compliance
Applications for a Home Office sponsor licence for employers who want to employ workers who need visa sponsorship, and advice on the record-keeping and reporting duties that come with it. A sponsor that does not meet those duties may face action against its licence, including suspension or revocation.
Family reunion visas
Advice on family reunion visas, including whether a route is currently open to your family member and what it requires.
EEA and EU settled status
Advice for EU, EEA and Swiss citizens and their family members on status under the EU Settlement Scheme, including questions about pre-settled and settled status.
Appeals and judicial review
Advice on challenging a refusal or other Home Office decision. Depending on the decision, the options may include an appeal, an administrative review or, where no adequate alternative remedy is available, judicial review, and short time limits usually apply.
How a matter runs
Initial enquiry
You tell us about your immigration history, your current status and what you want to achieve. We advise whether there is a route or application open to you.
Engagement and estimate
We confirm the scope of the work and an estimate of the likely total cost in writing before we begin.
Checking the requirements
We check your circumstances against the Immigration Rules and Home Office guidance for the route, which change regularly, and explain the main risks we identify before an application is made.
Evidence and application
We explain the documents the route requires, review them with you and help you prepare the application.
Decision
We explain the decision when it arrives. If the application is refused, we advise on the options, such as administrative review, appeal or a fresh application, and the time limits that apply.
Fees
Visa and citizenship matters are typically billed on an hourly rate basis. We will provide an estimate of the likely total cost at the outset of your matter. Home Office application fees are payable directly to the Home Office and are not included in our fees.
